4 "Weird" Health Habits I Try to Do Every Day (And Why They Might Not Be So Weird After All!)

I want to talk about four weird health hacks I try to do every day, and I thought it would be fun to talk about them here.
Because yes, some of them do sound a bit strange.
But there is always a reason behind them.
The first one is eating red or purple foods every day.
I actually started this a while back, and somehow it became one of those habits that has just stuck. My favourites are berries, red cabbage and sometimes beetroot (it's not my absolute favourite but I do love it roasted), because they are such an easy way to add colour, diversity and polyphenols into the diet.
And your gut loves diversity.
The more variety we can feed the gut, the more we support those beneficial bacteria that play such a huge role in digestion, inflammation, immune function, skin, hormones and overall health.
The second one is eating kiwi fruit with the skin on.
I know, I used to be absolutely horrified too.
But honestly, it’s actually fine once you get used to it, and kiwi skin is a lovely source of fibre and prebiotics. Kiwi is also high in vitamin C, so it’s one of those simple foods that can support the gut and the skin beautifully.
The third one is tongue scraping or brushing.
I do this twice a day when I brush my teeth, because gut health does not just start in the gut. It starts in the mouth. Your oral microbiome matters, and using a tongue scraper can help support that balance. It is such a small daily habit, but I really do think it makes a difference.
And the fourth one is rotating herbs to support my liver.
I use things like turmeric, cilantro (coriander leaf) and ginger. Other great options include green tea, dandelion and milk thistle, calendula and parsley root for deeper detoxification support weekly. Your liver is doing so much for you every single day. It is involved in detoxification, hormones, digestion, blood sugar, energy and hundreds of other processes, so it makes sense to support it properly.
None of these habits are complicated and that is the point.
You do not need to completely overhaul your life to start supporting your body. Sometimes it is the small daily things, done consistently, that help create a better internal environment over time.
A bit more colour on your plate.
A bit more support for your gut.
A little more love for your liver.
A better start to the day.
These small things matter.
With love,
